Background
Riul received his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (First Class Honours) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, in 2019. He subsequently undertook a PhD investigating the generation and propagation of tonal noise from contra-rotating rotor systems used in unmanned aerial vehicles. Following his doctoral studies, he held a Postdoctoral Researcher position on an industry-focused knowledge-transfer project between the University of Salford and Greenjets. He is now a Research Fellow in propulsion system design at the Rolls-Royce UTC within the Centre for Propulsion and Thermal Power Engineering at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, where he is broadening his expertise to include the aerodynamics and performance analysis of modern propulsion systems.
